2019 ALUMNI FIELD INITIATIVE

FOR Cedarburg High School

The current grass surface is susceptible to unpredictable climate conditions, which limits its playability to a single sport. Historically, every spring, the field is renovated to recapture the condition that we desire for the fall season. This reconditioning of the field causes it to be unused for the entire spring and summer.

A new artificial turf field would accommodate three times the number of students to use the field for athletic practices and events (football, soccer, marching band, lacrosse, softball, baseball). The field would also be used for Phys. Ed classes, youth programs, and other community events. A turf field would be far more accessible year-round for students and community members.

FieldTurf offers the safest artificial turf system available today. An independent, five-year safety study of competitive high school football showed that when compared to natural grass the FieldTurf system leads to:

  • 44%Fewer Concussion Injuries Combined
  • 43 %Fewer ACL Injuries Combined
  • 25%Less Time Lost to Long-Term Injuries (Lasting 22+ Days)
  • 16%Less Time Lost to Short-Term Injuries (Lasting 1-2 Days)
